Friends,
It’s with a lot of love and sadness that I share my transition out of Students United. At the end of March, I will be heading off on a new journey and ending this chapter. It’s been four and a half incredible years of fulfilling work, hilarious memories, and deep support.
My time at Students United has included two years of a pandemic (so I have actually worked here for 3000 years...) a global uprising for racial justice, a unique federal policy landscape with a volatile federal election transition, organizational-wide transformation under the leadership of the five Boards of Directors I’ve worked with and of Executive Director Diggins, and much more. My own life, like many people’s lives, became quite complicated over the last few years and if I had worked anywhere else, I may not have ended up as okay as I ultimately have. For that, I am endlessly grateful.
I will really miss working here. But I’m a lifer and will be devoted to the work, the students, of this organization forever. I hope everyone stays in touch. And I hope current, former, and future students never hesitate to reach out to me in their journeys (y’all know how much I love helping with your internship and job hunts!)
Students United truly is a special place. We are governed by the very people we serve and represent. Our staff is committed to serving students. And our students are so graciously giving, in their time and energy, to the effort of transforming our system towards a more equal, more just, and more accessible higher education experience. It’s meaningful work that I have been so lucky to be a part of.
I’ll be around. So, I’ll see you later.
