Hi Everyone!
I’m Kaileigh Weber. I use she/her/hers pronouns in all spaces. I am thrilled and honored to serve as the Students United State Chair this upcoming year. I am currently going into my third year at Winona State University where I major in both Political Science and Public Administration with a minor in Public Relations. I can’t wait to advocate for all students throughout our system.
During my past two years at Winona, I have been able to serve on Winona State Student Senate first as the freshman senator and this last year as the Treasurer. This last year made history as the first all-female executive board in history. Winona State values hearing students’ perspectives, so, while serving, I was able to get in-depth looks at what was happening on and around campus. This is something that all students should have whether they are a part of their senates or not. Students are what allow our universities to thrive and exist in the first place, and they should have a say in what is happening on their campus and throughout the system. While in Senate, I have been able to advocate for food access, higher student wages, lower fees, and equitable classrooms. I look forward to continuing this work as a senior senator and State Chair.
I also have a strong passion for getting young voters to the polls and having them actively engaged in politics as it directly affects them. I have been lucky enough to work on several campaigns as well as serve as an intern in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Being able to work with others to advocate for everyone is one of the most rewarding things that I can think of, and that is exactly what Student United is all about!
I also love to go paddle boarding, hiking, hammocking, and binge Netflix. I have a 7-month-old puppy named Tinsel who I adore and spend almost all my time with! I am also a big fan of musicals and am always looking for music recommendations.
I can’t wait to work together and on behalf of students!!
