My name is Mio Yoshizaki and I’m the new development intern at Students United. I’m currently pursuing my master’s degree in Gender & Women’s Studies at Minnesota State University Mankato. I’m very excited to be part of such an amazing organization and extremely fortunate to be here today.
Prior to this internship, I have worked at local and nation-wide non-profit organizations as an intern. Working closely with the community always thrilled me, and it made me passionate about bringing positive impacts on society. During my undergraduate program, I was also part of a student organization where I gained numerous leadership skills and experienced both challenges and joy of working closely with teammates.
Through working at Students United, I hope to learn financial tasks and responsibilities for running a non-profit organization. I would like to engage in fundraising activities and learn new strategies. Although the Covid-19 pandemic makes everything difficult for us and I won’t be able to work with other staff in person for the whole duration of my internship, I appreciate the opportunity Students United provided me.
Thank you very much for having me on a team!
