Meet Our Events and Fundraising Intern Marissa Ampe

Hi!

I am a senior from Winona State University with a double major in Marketing and Business Administration, and I will be graduating next spring. I am extremely excited to begin working with Students United and their amazing mission as the Events and Fundraising Intern.

Before Winona State University, I graduated from Anoka-Ramsey Community College with my Associate’s Degree in Business. At Anoka-Ramsey, I was involved heavily on campus in the Phi Theta Kappa honor society as president and helped with many projects and initiatives on campus. At Winona State, I am a member of Circle K Kiwanis and treasurer of the American Marketing Association.  With these organizations, I have had the pleasure of attending conferences, planning fundraising events, and meeting incredible people. My favorite part of Winona is the beautiful campus and the great hiking trails of the bluffs. If you are ever in Winona you have to go to Garvin Heights or Sugar Loaf, you will not regret it.

When I am not interning, I will be taking online classes over the summer through Winona and I plan to be outside enjoying the summer weather every chance I can. I enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, snowboarding, or doing anything outdoors, including spending all day at the beach. I am also a huge book nerd and can easily spend an entire day reading.

This last spring, I also traveled to China on a Winona State Travel Study. I visited the towns of Beijing, Chengdu, Suzhou, and Shanghai. This was an amazing experience where I had the opportunity to be fully immersed in China’s culture. On this trip, I climbed the Great Wall of China, I rode in a rickshaw down the streets of Beijing, took a calligraphy class, visited Chengdu’s famous pandas, and experienced authentic Sichuan cooking in a cooking class.  Although the best part of China was the exceptional food, it was an adventure of a lifetime.

I am extremely excited for this summer with Student United, and if you have any other questions, you can email me at mampe@studentsunited.org.

Best,

Marissa Ampe
