I am the President of Black Motivated Women. I am also MNSU’s student body Vice President, a tour guide and a city council campaign manager. I am a 4th year student majoring in Political Science with a minor in English. In my spare time I like to read, listen to music, cook, hangout with friends and sleep lol.

Someday if I could meet any celebrity, I would want to meet either Rihanna, the Obamas or the Smiths (Will Smith).

Diversity Specialist

She is a graduate of Rust (HBCU) College where she received her bachelor’s degree of Sociology. She is a graduate assistant in the Sociology Department where she is getting a Master’s degree in Sociology College Teaching Track and a certificate in non-profit leadership. This is her first year working for Students United. Alexis, her preferred name, has informally been informally involved in advocacy since she was a child with her late father. The reason she wanted to join Students United is because she wanted to advocate for equal accessibility and standards of education for all. Other areas she is interested in advocating are eradicating mental health stigmas, oppressions of intersectionality, trauma and identity. When she is not listening to diverse perspectives on campus, or researching and working on her Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome thesis, you can find Alexis at her local church small group or catching up on the latest episode of The Breakfast (radio show) Club.
