Penny Golf Scramble Fun for the Less Golf Inclined

First thing every new, or not so seasoned, golfer needs to know is that no one is good at golf. Everyone is just at different levels from decent to not the best. Everyone, even the pros, are constantly improving some part of their game from putting, to driving, or to getting out of a sand trap. Golf can still be fun for everyone regardless of skill level!

The best advice I can give anyone is to aim for fairways and greens regardless of how far you can hit it this will make the game easiest for you. Next, don’t be afraid of kicking up some grass or making a divot when you are using your irons this should happen! A beautiful part about our golf scramble is you can buy a Penny Shot (mulligan), which lets you retake one shot and all of the money raised goes to student scholarships! Regardless of skill, golf is a great way to enjoy a beautiful day outside, socialize, make new friends and catch up with old ones! Just remember try not to talk while other people are hitting. If decide to not take a cart you will get a ton on steps in for the day!

Now let’s go over some golf terms so you’ll have an idea of what is going on. You start each hole on the tee box which is the area you hit your drive from. This is usually your shot that goes the farthest and during this shot you are aiming for the hole’s fairway. The fairway is shortly mowed grass usually that usually runs through the middle of the hole. After your drive you will keep hitting until you finally get onto the hole’s green. On the green you will use your putter and try to read the slope of the ground so the ball rolls toward the hole instead of off the green into the rough! Hopefully you will finish each hole around par, which is the number of shots the golf course says a hole should be finished in. Last thing, the person with the lowest score at the end of the round wins!

If even after all this new golf information you still do not want to give golf a try, that’s ok. Our golf scramble will also have a raffle, cocktail hour, and a growler grab in addition to dinner! You can always download a golf app on your phone and brag about what a great round you shot at dinner. No one will be the wiser that you never left the clubhouse.

We look forward to seeing golfers of all skill levels this year. Registration is open until Thursday, June 14th. We hope you can join us!
