From the pandemic to the social justice uprising following the murder of George Floyd, we are living through a time of major change in our communities. Have recent events led you to seek a place to put your feelings into actions? Are you looking for a place to explore, learn and grow?

From October 23rd to mid-January, we’re gathering a group of 25 people to explore their personal stories and identities related to race, class, hope, and the systems we all live in. We’ll be storytellers and together we’ll learn to bring in resources/fundraise for Students United. You don’t need to have oodles of money or know anything about fundraising. Students United will provide training and together, we’ll learn and grow.

People from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We are looking for volunteers who are interested in higher education, moving financial resources to create power, and learning in a cohort model. We will meet virtually, and the time commitments are outlined below:

Training dates:

Cohort Kick-off

Friday, October 23rd – 6-9p.m.
Saturday, October 24th 10-3p.m.

Class + Higher Education Training + Cohort Check-in

Nov. 14th 10a.m.-2p.m.

Hope | Belief | Change Training + Cohort Check-in

Dec. 12th 10a.m.-2p.m.

Cohort Check-out/Celebration

January 16th

Participants are asked to commit to attending the above training, monthly 1-1 check-ins with the Director of Development. Outside of the training and 1-1’s, folks will be setting up virtual meetings with friends, family, and folks in their networks that already care about them and could be potentially interested in student organizing for a better world.

Are you interested or curious? Fill out this form and Christina, the Director of Development, will reach out.

Students United is a non-profit that advocates alongside 50,000 students in the four-year Minnesota State universities. Our mission, led by Minnesota State University students, is to work as the inclusive voice for all future, current and former students. We actively work to represent and support Minnesota State students and advocate on a campus, state, and federal level for higher education policies that make a positive impact for our students and communities. Alongside our policy work, we also allocate scholarships for students across the Minnesota State system and engage alumni from across the seven universities.
